Sustainability at Sensoria Dolomites
Our location at the heart of one of the most sensitive ecosystems in the world means that sustainability is a commitment that we take seriously here at Sensoria Dolomites. The tradition of safeguarding what’s been entrusted to us and protecting it for future generations to enjoy means the world to us. Today, tomorrow, and in years to come. Six value pathways guide our actions – each with its own impetus, yet intrinsically linked with the others.
Our vision: sustainability with soul – responsibility with integrity
Amidst the majestic Dolomites – where nature isn’t just a pretty backdrop, but an essential habitat – we see sustainability as a way of life rather than an obligatory measure. For us, it’s no trend, but a promise: to the future, to nature, to the people who live with and at Sensoria Dolomites.
Sensoria Dolomites is a place to pause, take stock, and reconnect. Our responsibility towards environment, community, and culture shapes our every decision – mindfully, transparently, and in harmony with the delicate ecosystem of Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm.
We think in terms of regenerative cycles instead of linear consumption when it comes to energy, nutrition, knowledge, and how we interact with each other. Because for us, sustainability is not about doing things less, but about doing things right. With depth. With integrity. With soul.
Our 6 value pathways. Each leading us onward.
We’re making our way along six pathways built around our values – each a powerful driver that makes sustainability something we can feel, experience, and embrace.
These pathways guide our daily actions. Not side by side, but intertwined. They pass through and complement each other, feeding into each other to form a living, breathing whole.
Only together can they unfold their full effect. For us, true sustainability means values meeting in harmony – building a stable, meaningful foundation for today and tomorrow.

1. Living in harmony with nature
Energy | Water | Construction | Cleaning
Most of our energy comes from renewable sources, including our own photovoltaic systems and solar thermal energy.
An intelligent building management system regulates heating and ventilation as needed and in a way that conserves resources. Drinking water comes from the local mountain spring – always fresh, always plastic-free.
In the construction and interior design, we’ve used natural, local materials that reflect our Alpine identity. Our cleaning is environmentally friendly thanks to biodegradable agents and economical dosing systems.
2. Mindful indulgence
Sourcing | Cuisine | Circular systems
We believe that real indulgence begins with appreciation. Our kitchen team works closely with regional producers, farmers, and craftspeople. Plant-based options are an integral part of our menus, and food waste is actively avoided through clever planning.
We strictly avoid the use of plastic throughout the hotel. High-quality natural cosmetics, certified textiles, and aromatherapy care products contribute towards a holistic culture of indulgence – skin-friendly, sustainable, and meaningful.
3. Preserving diversity
Biodiversity | Microclimate | Landscape
Biodiversity is essential for all life. We create natural habitats for bees, insects, and birds with green roofs, species-rich herb gardens, and carefully planned green areas.
This helps us not only improve the microclimate, but also make an active contribution to the ecological balance of the region.
4. Promoting eco-mobility
Arrival | Local travel | CO₂ footprint
Arrive with a light footprint: We promote low-emission travel with free transfers, the Südtirol Guest Pass, an e-bike offer, and our own charging stations for electric vehicles.
Our employees also use an e-car sharing model – flexible, smart, and forward-looking. For us, eco-mobility is no mere concept, but a firm part of our lives.
5. Strengthening the community
Team | Culture | Social responsibility
Our employees – affectionately known as the “Soulmates” – are the beating heart of Sensoria. In a multicultural, respectful working environment, we promote diversity, the chance to help shape our workplace, and personal development – through our Soulmate Handbook, further training, benefits, and our annual green day.
In addition, we regularly invite guests and team alike to take part in cultural encounters, whether at food culture workshops, art projects, or traditional regional events. This creates a vibrant place where values become tangible – and community grows.
6. Shaping the future
Strategy | Transparency | Dialogue
Sustainability is not a state, but a process. Our sustainability manager steers this process strategically, reliably, and with an eye to the future.
Transparency is essential for us: We share our progress openly via our Sustainable Wall, the digital Guestnet, and targeted communication on social media – and invite guests to be part of this change. We make the invisible visible. And turn sustainability into an inspiring experience.
